Greetings, all; I know that all of you are probably busy getting ready for this Thursdays activities. Thanksgiving day can be trying at times. I hope that everyone will have the grandest of times while enjoying the day with family. My thoughts will be with my sister, who I will miss since she won't be able to attend. I also know however, that she will enjoy the day herself in her own way with her own family. As you read this poem about Thanksgiving day, prepare yourselves mentally as well as physically to experience a joyous time with loved ones, and always appreciate that which you have while you still have it. So often It isn't until we lose that which we have that we regret it. So, to all my fans, have a happy and safe Thanksgiving.
It’s that time of year again,
To pass the turkey round.
Followed by the biscuits and
The other fixins found.
We gather all our family,
Or as many as we can.
To celebrate togetherness,
At least that is the plan.
Through football games and cooking,
The house is such a clutter.
To be heard above the dim,
Requires more than just a mutter.
The day is filled with activities,
So be it no surprise,
It’s sports and food and lots of things,
The parades and the pies.
When the tryptophan is working,
You can tell by all the yawns.
It is time to start pondering,
How to decorate your lawns.
The turkey has been desimated,
To clean up you must lend,
A helping hand and be quick,
Christmas is right around the bend.
When the day is done, be happy,
Your house is all your dome.
You can tell your relatives,
To pack it in and then go home.
The next day you’ll spend shopping,
And hopefully reliving,
The best of times the day before,
So I wish you happy Thanksgiving.
