Happy holiday greetings to all; First, I hope that everyone has a very joyous holiday season this year. I also wish for a prosperous and healthy new year in 2008. I have been busy with the holiday shopping and spreading of yuletide cheer. I have composed a new poem for all to enjoy. For all of you who appreciate Christmas carols and the poetic verses they resound then please enjoy my rendition of rhyming many carols into one poem. I had to work hard at this endeavor as many of the carols were tough to rhyme. So, if your favorite one isn't listed, then I apologize in advanced. Again, Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all and a very happy new year.
Have you ever wondered, about all the songs we sing,
When it comes to Christmas time, and we go caroling.
There are hundreds we can chose from, I won’t name all that’s true,
But it bares some looking at, so let us name a few.
When evening falls and so does snow, and all the world is right,
Echoes can be heard aloud, when singing Silent Night.
Snowball upon snowball, build him if you can,
Our favorite icy character, of Frost the Snowman.
Decorations fill our homes, stockings on the walls,
Reminders of that famous time, telling us to Deck the Halls.
The decorations hang on pines, and furs we all can see,
That bore the idea of the song, entitled O Christmas Tree.
We welcome Jesus in a stable, what else could be stranger?
Than to sing a favorite hymn, Away in a Manger.
To those who were confused, and of Jesus’ birth amiss,
We understand the question, in the song What Child is This?
Jesus’ birth was special, it fills our hearts with joy,
As did our rum, a tum tum, from our Little Drummer Boy.
The coming of our Savior, was a glorious and wonderful sight,
We can’t forget to thank the author, of O Holy Night.
Some songs transcend the soil, upon which we trod,
To wish us salutations, just like Feliz Navidad.
We sing of hope around the globe, and happiness unfurled,
It comes out in the song we sing, called Joy to the World.
When caroling it pays to sing, as if all in one voice,
It helps you when you’re banging out, Good Christian Men Rejoice.
We all love Christmas carols, our hearts are where it dwells,
Christmas is Coming; The First Noel; and of course, Jingle Bells.
We love to hear the story, of the animal so queer,
Santa called him Rudolph, the Red Nosed Reindeer.
Our pets become like humans, except for all their paws,
Children say I Saw Momma, Kissing Santa Clause.
Frozen rain hits the ground, and covers it with a glow,
Children sing Let it Snow, Let it Snow Let it Snow.
To see an angel singing, must be a wonderous thing,
Tis no wonder we say Hark, the Herald Angels Sing.
So as you see our favorite songs, are placed in history,
They resound in the ears, of our friends and family.
May I wish you joyous yuletides, in every conceivable way,
And many happy blessings, on this wonderous Christmas day.
